Parents-to-be Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz kicked off their wedding weekend with a celebratory rehearsal dinner Friday.

Ashlee’s sister Jessica hosted the gathering at her Beverly Hills home. Ashlee and Pete arrived together at the intimate event held for family and close friends only.

The mood was romantic. Candle-lit tables were set up in Jessica’s back yard, while trees were adorned with little white lights.

The ceremony will be held Saturday at the Simpson’s home in Encino, California.

On Thursday, crews erected a massive white tent with bright red curtains in the backyard.
